The Rangers' power play was again the difference with two goals in the second period that lifted the Blueshirts to a 4-2 win over the Oilers Saturday afternoon at Madison Square Garden. Pavel Buchnevich  and  Rick Nash  scored power play goals 3:43 apart in the middle frame to help extend the team's winning streak to six games. With New York trailing, 2-1, thanks to a power play goal by Connor McDavid 10:06 into the second, Buchnevich converted on a hard cross-ice pass by  Kevin Shattenkirk  in the slot to even the score. The goal was Buchnevich's seventh goal and 11th point in his last nine games. "I knew when Mats [Zuccarello] gave me that pass through the seam Pavel was coming off the bench," said Shattenkirk, who extended his point streak to seven games with the assist. "I could kind of see him out of the side of my eye and knew he was going to have a good one-time there." Buchnevich drills home a PPG 00:49 •  1:00 ...

Boston Bruins @ New York Rangers

Rangers Crest The Rangers came out flying in the first period. New York looks faster than last year (new players look like they are the solution to the Rangers slow-paced game in the past few years. Pavel Buchnevich looks excellent on the ice, he may be the goal scorer that New York has needed for a while. (Kreider, Nash, and Grabner cannot score them all) Young players on the New York Rangers consist of; Jimmy Vesey (who scored goal #2 and #3 for the Rangers, Pavel Buchnevich, Paul Carey, Jesper Fast and Brady Skjei are the young players that are performing really well for the Rangers and they can develop into really good players. Jimmy Vesey has very good potential, he scored goal 3 and 4 for himself on the year. Shattenkirk while not young extended his point streak to 6 games. This is what the Rangers really needed, no offense to Dan Girardi, really good at what he does but the Rangers really needed an offensive defenseman other than Ryan McDonagh and Brady Skjei t...

Blog Update

The New York Rangers are being covered as well on the blog. Although the Habs will be the center of focus on this blog, the Rangers will have some love on the blog. I’m trying to cover other teams because I feel that I can feed more news to the Internet and the hockey world. But yes the Rangers are next. The Rangers are a very interesting team for me to cover because they have knocked out the Habs 2 times. This should mean that I should hate them for that a start having a hatred towards them right? Well no I like the Rangers in a lot of aspects, the fan base is really nice and they welcome fans of other teams with open arms. Also their colors are very vibrant and nice. As bland and dated their jerseys are, they are undoubtedly one of the sharpest looking teams in the NHL. They also have a revered aura around their organization. But I hope you all do enjoy the Rangers coverage on the blog!!!
