Boston Bruins @ New York Rangers

The Rangers came out flying in the first period. New York looks faster than last year (new players look like they are the solution to the Rangers slow-paced game in the past few years. Pavel Buchnevich looks excellent on the ice, he may be the goal scorer that New York has needed for a while. (Kreider, Nash, and Grabner cannot score them all)
Young players on the New York Rangers consist of; Jimmy Vesey (who scored goal #2 and #3 for the Rangers, Pavel Buchnevich, Paul Carey, Jesper Fast and Brady Skjei are the young players that are performing really well for the Rangers and they can develop into really good players. Jimmy Vesey has very good potential, he scored goal 3 and 4 for himself on the year. Shattenkirk while not young extended his point streak to 6 games. This is what the Rangers really needed, no offense to Dan Girardi, really good at what he does but the Rangers really needed an offensive defenseman other than Ryan McDonagh and Brady Skjei to score goals for their club. Shattenkirk is that guy and he is turning out to be a great asset for the Rangers.
The Rangers came out flying in the first period with speed, grit and goal scoring. They dominated the Bruins in overall scoring chances and time of possession. The defense and Henrik Lundqvist looked stellar in the first period and the second period. Lundqvist looks like he is able to handle the heat put on by the Boston Bruins very well. The Rangers forwards had pressure on the Boston Bruins blue line and forced a lot of turnovers. The Rangers put the puck on net a lot, they looked like an extremely confident group and they looked like they wanted to make a statement. The Rangers outshot the Bruins 16-7 in the first period.
Within the second period, Boston came out a little bit better. But their power play looks horrible, but they didn't have most of their players due to injury. Rangers looked go in the offensive zone but the defense should be a little better than what we saw in the second period. The Rangers and Bruins were riding their goalies all period long and were trading chances left and right. Although the Rangers and the Bruins were trying very hard, the effort was there offensively. But the defense needs to be a focus by both teams because the amount of chances that were put on net were astronomical. The Rangers had so many missed opportunities to cash in on but they did not convert them. Chris Kreider and Rick Nash I thought were invisible this game. Although Nash did have a few chances I will give him that.
Through the third period, the Rangers were under siege. They were desperately trying to hang onto a 2 goal lead. That lead would be shortened to 1 goal with Bergeron scoring midway through the third. Towards the end of the period, it was all Bruins. They dominated play and started attacking the net nonstop in the final minutes of the third. But the Rangers defense and goaltending proved to be too much for the Bruins to overcome and the Rangers eventually won their 5th in a row.
