The season is in full flux and I can't keep up with this...

Ottawa vs. Arizona

It's a matinee today against the Coyotes and we've got 5 key game stories to get you ready for puck drop. 1. Duchene hunting for his first with the Sens The Sens may have dropped Matt Duchene's home debut on Thursday against the Penguins but the team's newest centre was encouraged by a strong showing in the first period. "I don't think we were that far off for the rest of the game," said Duchene. "There was just that little, extra 10% that was not quite there." The Penguins were able to rattle off a pair of second period goals late in the frame and Duchene noticed a shift in the game's tempo just prior to falling behind 2-0. "The lack of flow in a game can sometimes hurt you as a team," Duchene continued. "I felt like we had some really good momentum in the first period and it got disrupted a little bit in the second and that worked in their favour." Duchene finished the game leading the Sens in shots on

Edmonton Oilers fall short...

DALLAS, TX --  The Oilers overcame a two-goal deficit in the first period to tie the game and eventually gain the lead on the strength of two goals from  Drake Caggiula  and three points from  Connor McDavid  but the Dallas Stars rallied to retake the lead and eventually defeat the visitors 6-3 in a game that had plenty of scoring and altercations.  OILERS TODAY | @ Stars Post-Game 01:34 •  November 18th, 2017 While shorthanded,  Zack Kassian  scooped up the puck in the neutral zone and skated in all alone on Kari Lehtonen. His shot attempt was turned away by the Stars netminder, however. On the same penalty kill,  Connor McDavid  skated in on a two-on-one for Edmonton's second scoring chance. His pass attempt to  Drake Caggiula  was knocked out of harm's way, however. Three minutes later, while even strength, Dallas scored on its first shot of the game. Jamie Benn dumped the puck into the corner where Antoine Roussel picked it up behind the goal

Monahan has power-play hat trick in Flames' OT win

Image
Sean Monahan scored three power-play goals for his first NHL hat trick and Michael Frolik scored in overtime to lift the Flames past Flyers. Hats off to Mony! Sean Monahan  scored his first career hat-trick,  Johnny Gaudreau  scored to extend his goal-scoring streak, and  Michael Frolik  tallied in overtime as the Flames beat the Flyers 5-4 In Philadelphia Saturday. Mike Smith  stopped 35 of 39 shots in the win, returning to the lineup after missing two games and two periods of another. Brandon Manning, Sean Couturier, Ivan Provorov, and Nolan Patrick answered for the Flyers. Brian Elliott, playing his first game against the Flames since leaving the team, stopped 26 of 31 shots. "When guys step up and do little things, it means a lot to the guys on the bench," Monahan said. "So I think tonight was a big win, Smitty stood on his head again like always, and we're leaving here with two points that we came for." It was the Flyers who opened the

Oooff!!!! This was an ugly one.

The rivalry between Montreal and Toronto is easily one of the best in the hockey world. But to see an ugly one like this, it's tough for Habs fans to take in. Toronto has beaten them on home ice 2 times already this year. Before the first game that Toronto had this season against the Canadiens they hadn't beaten the Habs in 14 straight games. Now the Leafs feel it's there time to shine against the Habs and make their own win streak. For the fans sake, Montreal doesn't want that to happen. Anderson looked stellar for the Leafs. Didn't give up one goal this game and their defense and goal tending looks better and Anderson looks dialed in. As for the Habs, they need to find something soon or it will get even worse for them in the upcoming games.

Calgary Flames!!!

I got bored and started thinking of teams that I could cover on the blog and I thought what about the Canadian teams in the NHL. They are fun to cover because I don't live anywhere near them and they I are special to watch because of their fan bases. The Next team is the Calgary Flames!!!

Toronto Maple Leafs

Adding a new team within the blog. It's the Toronto Maple Leafs obviously. The reason being is that I feel that I need to cover more teams on this blog. More teams will be coming, hopefully it can be the rest of the 31 teams in the NHL.
